With Theresa May’s Brexit government promising to boost investment in the North of England, potentially generating a surge in legal work across the region, Legal Cheek Careers is partnering with Bond Dickinson to hear about the opportunities awaiting the next generation of lawyers.

Bond Dickinson is currently advising on several landmark deals from its northern offices including the £350 million Newcastle Science Central project, one of the biggest urban regeneration initiatives of its kind in the UK — and the firm’s lawyers will use examples such as this to sketch out their vision of the future.

With transport, energy, education and public law set to be hot areas over the coming years, corporate rail partner Kevin Bell and projects & procurement solicitor Emma Dewar will share their insights and discuss their careers to date with 40 law student attendees. Joining them on the panel to provide a business development perspective will be Bond Dickinson’s head of marketing, Helen Myers, and communications executive Dale Gorley.

The session takes place on the evening of Thursday 9 February at Bond Dickinson’s St Ann’s Wharf office at 112 Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne. After the Question Time-style discussion — running from 6-7pm — there will be drinks and networking with Bond Dickinson’s lawyers, trainees and recruitment staff until 8:30pm.

Apply to attend here by submitting a CV and two questions for the panel. The CVs of those offered places will be passed on to Bond Dickinson’s graduate recruitment team.

Students of all levels are welcome, but places are limited.
