Understanding global law firms — with Addleshaw Goddard

Friday 11 October, 2pm to 4:30pm, taking place IN-PERSON at Addleshaw Goddard Leeds

Join us on the afternoon of Friday 11 October for an in-person student event at Addleshaw Goddard’s Leeds office.

With a strategy that aims to double the size of the firm by 2030 as a continuation of a period of rapid recent growth, Addleshaw Goddard has emerged as one of the global firms to watch in recent years. In particular, it has seen a surge in its Middle East business, where the firm is located in Dubai, Doha, Muscat and Riyadh, and Far East practice, where the firm is based out of Singapore and Tokyo. Overall Addleshaw Goddard has seen a 67% increase in international activity in the last three years.

Date: Friday 11 October 2024
Time: 2pm to 4:30pm
Location: 3 Sovereign Square, Sovereign Street, Leeds, LS1 4ER
Level: Students, Graduates

Through a panel discussion, we’ll be exploring how the firm has worked collectively to facilitate this global growth, with lawyers from Addleshaw Goddard’s Leeds office discussing some recent cross-border transactions they have worked on to give insights into how an international law firm operates. They will also talk about the big commercial awareness themes affecting their practice areas.

The speakers will chart their career journeys, too, explaining why they chose their respective specialisms and what they enjoy most about their jobs, while offering advice to students hoping to follow a similar path.

The speakers

• Graeme Warburton, partner in the construction and engineering disputes team
Caera Loughran, managing associate in the corporate finance team
Guan Xian Loh, trainee in the corporate finance team

There will then be networking over drinks and canapes with the speakers, Addleshaw Goddard trainees and members of the firm’s early careers team.

This event is for current undergraduate university students and graduates only. For sixth form students, make sure to check out our other upcoming events and fairs.

Apply to attend. You’ll be asked to submit two questions for the firm.
