A similar thing happened to a Kent criminology graduate
A third year law student at the University of Warwick has reportedly fallen victim to the so-called ‘killer clown’ craze.
According to a student news site, the final year was chased through Cannon Park, which is close to the Russell Group university’s campus, by two men wearing Joker masks.
In his words:
I saw two men wearing Joker masks on bicycles. They went on a spree and were scaremongering, chasing me with bikes as I ran to campus. They then chased me back to Claycroft residences and attempted to run me down with bikes.
The student — who initially thought the attack may be a race-related — said he felt “apprehensive” about the “very unusual” incident, but feels calmer since learning about the ‘killer clown’ phenomenon.
Though it sounds very creepy, a law student at the university told Legal Cheek today that the latest incident hasn’t fazed the Warwick community too much. She said:
I think a lot of students are sceptical about the clown on campus, and no one seems to be particularly concerned even if they do believe it since I think everyone regards campus as quite a safe environment generally.
Another victim of the creepy clown craze is Zeph Fenn, a criminology graduate from the University of Kent. Fenn, who according to his LinkedIn graduated with a 2:1 degree in criminology and cultural studies in 2015, was reportedly chased through the Kent campus “by a pack of clowns.”
He wrote on Facebook:
Be careful everyone. This is a viral hype which has taken a very dark turn.
