Strand Chambers’ Henry Hendron has been bailed until March
A junior barrister has been arrested after his boyfriend died of a suspected drug overdose in his Temple flat, according to a report on gay news website Pink News.
Following the arrest last week, 34 year-old Henry Hendron of London set Strand Chambers has been bailed until March as police seek to obtain more information about the “unexplained” death of Miguel Jimenez, 18.
Over the weekend Hendron tweeted a plea to be given privacy to grieve alone.

This morning the City of London Police issued this statement to Legal Cheek:
“Police were called at 08.58 on Tuesday 20 January to a residential address in the Temple following reports of a sudden death. London Ambulance Service and City of London Police attended the scene. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Next of kin have been informed. A post mortem began at Poplar Mortuary on Thursday 22 January. The coroner awaits the results of toxicology tests. The death is being treated as unexplained at this time.
“A 34 year old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation. He has been bailed until a date in March.”
Hendron’s brother, Richard Hendron, told PinkNews:
“My brother is completely devastated at the loss of the love of his life Miguel. This is very sad and tragic.”
Hendron is known at the bar for his unconventional advertising methods, which range from YouTube videos to billboard adverts. In November he was hit with a £2,000 fine from the Bar Standards Board for blogging during the trial of his friend MP Nigel Evans after the judge referred Hendron’s remarks to the Attorney General.
Neither Hendron nor Strand Chambers responded to Legal Cheek‘s request for comment.
