Gruesome gavel
Before Legal Cheek readers groan at what appears to be another misuse of gavel imagery to represent the various UK legal professions — this is a really nasty gavel.
It forms part of collection of weapons seized from Texas prisoners over the years, with the image posted on the internet by Wall Street Journal legal affairs reporter Jacob Gershman. And it really does make one grateful that gavels are not — repeat not — used in UK courtrooms.
