A lawyer stand-up comedy night: what could possibly go wrong?
Yesterday evening a host of brave souls from the legal profession assembled in a King’s Cross pub to have a go at stand-up comedy. Newsroom demands meant that the Legal Cheek team arrived slightly late to the event, and so regrettably missed the apparently highly-accomplished early performances.
But happily we were present to see Sean Jones QC (pictured) — the very funny author of these viral marriage tips to George Clooney — bring the house down.

Other highlights from the second half of the show included a brilliant routine from Hodge Jones & Allen obscenity law specialist Myles Jackman.

But the gag of the night went to Boyes Turner’s Laurie Anstis, who stepped out of the shadows to captivate with a stage presence that recalled a young Russell Brand.

All profits from the evening went to the National Youth Arts Trust.
