David Willetts, the minister of state for universities and science, has approved the granting of full university title to BPP. The private equity-owned professional education institution — at the jewel of whose crown sits BPP Law School — will be known as BPP University as soon as it changes its name at Companies House.
BPP, which was awarded “University College” status in 2010, follows the University of Law to become Britain’s second for-profit university.
But will BPP be keeping its rather expensive new logo — only introduced at the beginning of last year — as admired by ex-Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright below?
According to posters on BPP’s Facebook page, the logo and associated re-brand may have cost as much as £300,000. Surely BPP wouldn’t go through another makeover so soon?
