Christina Chinnock of Angel Chambers in Swansea has scooped one of the top prizes at the British Natural Bodybuilding Federation Welsh Championships. The Swansea-based family law barrister, 45, came first in the over 40s women’s class at the “Miss Figure Masters” section of the event….
In the wake of her win — which came in the first body building competition Chinnock has ever entered — the mother of four spoke of “flying the flag for working mums”.
She told the Llanelli Star: “I’m still a practising barrister in Swansea and I’m a busy mum of four, so that adds to the sense of victory. I’m flying the flag for the working mums and showing what we can achieve.”
Revealing that she had been in training for the competition since last October, Chinnock continued: “I have always been interested in fitness, it’s not an off the cuff thing. I set myself the challenge and decided to enter the championships.”
The Middle Temple member, who was called to the Bar in 1998, also spoke of how bodybuilding has helped to offset the strains of life at the Bar.
“Some make a career out of these things. But if you have a busy lifestyle, it gives you that challenge and a personal sense of achievement. It has kept me sane mentally and physically to deal with all the other elements of my busy life,” she added.
