Monday 23 November, from 4pm to 6:30pm, taking place virtually THIS EVENT IS FULLY BOOKED
Join us on the afternoon of Monday 23 November for a virtual event in partnership with The University of Law (ULaw) exploring the big commercial awareness themes that students need to focus on as they apply for training contracts.
The virtual event kicks off with a panel discussion chaired by a Legal Cheek journalist featuring lawyers from Baker McKenzie, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) and Ropes & Gray, and a careers expert from ULaw.
Time: 4pm to 6:30pm
Location: Virtual event
Level: Students, Graduates
The speakers will consider key topics including the digitisation of society, the Green Economy, and the government’s fiscal response to the Covid-19 pandemic – and explain how their effect shapes clients’ priorities and the day-to-day lives of lawyers. They will also discuss their career journeys and give advice to students hoping to follow a similar path.
The speakers
- Matthew Cox, banking partner at Baker McKenzie
- Carol Osborne, M&A and corporate finance partner at BCLP
- Ruchit Patel, antitrust and trainee development and recruitment partner at Ropes & Gray
- Paul de la Peña, tutor at ULaw, Moorgate and former partner and national head of restructuring at Eversheds
After the panel discussion there will be virtual networking with some of the speakers, graduate recruitment team members and trainees from their firms and some of ULaw’s campus ambassadors.
