Her net worth is double that of the reality star
Judy Sheindlin’s net worth is twice that of reality TV queen Kim Kardashian-West — and she made over £1 million more than her last year.
According to Forbes, Sheindlin — the States’ Judge Rinder — raked in $47 million (£36.1 million) last year for her Judge Judy role. The 74-year-old has an estimated net worth of $300 million (£230.1 million), placing her at number 51 on Forbes’ ‘America’s Richest Self-Made Women’ list.
By comparison, Kardashian-West — who has spoken about wanting to go to law school in the future — made $45.5 million (£34.9 million) between 1 June 2016 and 1 June 2017. Aged 36, she is worth an estimated $150 million (£115.1 million), with this anticipated to rise given the recent launch of her new beauty range.
Though it’s sometimes difficult to escape the Kardashians’ TV stronghold, the family’s staple show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, is actually just 13 series in. Judge Judy, by contrast, has had 21 seasons — perhaps it’s just a matter of time before Kim and co catch up with New York Law School graduate Judy in the money stakes?
Sheindlin’s yield didn’t just trump Kardashian-West’s. She earned more than Simon Cowell ($43.5 million, £33.4 million), Celine Dion ($42 million, £32.2 million), Rihanna ($36 million, £27.6 million), Britney Spears ($34 million, £26.1 million) and Katy Perry ($33 million, £25.3 million), to name a few.
However, many stars did come out higher than Sheindlin. To list some of the bigger names: Beyoncé earned $105 million (£80.5 million), JK Rowling $95 million (£72.9 million) and Adele $69 million (£52.9 million). But who could compete with rapper Sean Combs (P Diddy)? He earned a whopping $130 million (£100 million) last year.
