London office receives magic makeover to celebrate all things LGBT
Magic circle giant Linklaters has marked the start of Pride Month by installing a new rainbow-coloured lighting scheme at its plush City HQ.
The new lighting — which features the classic rainbow flag colours associated with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community — will be a prominent feature of Linklaters’ reception area throughout the month of June.
Commenting on the new office addition, the firm’s managing partner, Gideon Moore, said:
We are passionate about creating an environment in which our LGBT colleagues around the world can bring their whole selves to work and where every employee is valued for their talent.
Moore, who heads up a number of the firm’s LGBT initiatives, continued:
Being neutral is not enough. No one should be held back at work or in their personal lives because of their sexual orientation or gender identity and I am delighted that, for the first time, we are visibly signalling our commitment to LGBT equality by lighting our London office reception areas in the colours of the rainbow.
Earlier this year Legal Cheek reported that 17 City law firms had bagged places on the 2018 LGBT employer power list.
The top 100 were compiled by equality charity Stonewall using a unique benchmarking tool called the “workplace equality index”. Firms which featured included Pinsent Masons, Clifford Chance, Baker McKenzie and Berwin Leighton Paisner, among others.
