A very unlikely connection
Top human rights barrister Amal Clooney and X-Factor rapper ‘Honey G’ were schoolmates more than 20 years ago, it has emerged.
Clooney — having relocated from Lebanon to England in the 1980s — attended Dr Challoner’s High School, a highly regarded all girl grammar institution in leafy Buckinghamshire. This, claims the Mirror, was the very school that X-Factor rapper (if you can really call her that) Honey G went to.
Three years below Clooney, Honey G — whose real name is the slightly less gangster Anna Georgette Gilford — “could have been friends” with the Doughty Street Chambers barrister, the report suggests.
For those unfamiliar with Gilford’s exploits, she is currently starring in the latest series of ITV’s singing competition X-Factor. Dividing opinion on Twitter, some die-hard X-Factor fans feel the 35-year-old is making a mockery of the show.
