This solicitors’ outfit clearly wanted to bag some cheap media coverage with an easy PR stunt — so here’s the story
A Nottinghamshire general practice has taken the lead in ripping the piss out of the legal profession’s love affair with Internet profile pictures of lawyers.
Fidler & Pepper — which has offices in the two market towns of Mansfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield — alerted the world on its website that it had finally broken down and conformed to fashion.
But not quite. While the big swingers in the City wheel in top snappers to take album cover-style images of their senior players, there’s something a bit not quite right about F&P’s profile mug shots.
For example, managing partner and conveyancing specialist Mark Slade bears a striking resemblance to that chap that married that Doughty Street human rights barrister and Columbia University law school lecturer.
And his brother and fellow conveyancing partner, Matt, looks a lot like another face from Hollywood, but one that has also recently been hanging about in the Inns of Court.
While head of litigation, Russell Jones, seems to have something of the James Nesbitts about him; and if partner Christie Limb — head of the commercial property department — isn’t a spit for that do-gooding Mrs Brad Pitt, then we here at Legal Cheek must have let slip our subscriptions to Hello! and OK!
Other lawyers get in on the act, but frankly it gets a bit tiresome when you have to scratch your head to remember the name of the bloke what played Egg in the BBC Two programme, “This Life”.
You can view all the profiles here.
