Cambridge Uni third year Ted Loveday secured £60,000 position with Maitland Chambers last month
University Challenge hero Ted Loveday is not only a genius who is adored by fawning members of the opposite sex — he is also in possession of a pupillage at one of London’s top sets.
Legal Cheek can reveal — via a tip-off in our comments section — that the third year law undergraduate and social media sensation who aced Monday’s final of University Challenge will commence a pupillage at Maitland Chambers in September 2016.
Commercial and chancery set Maitland confirmed to us just now that this is indeed correct, with Loveday having netted one of the three pupillages offered by the chambers in its recruitment round this January. The set pays its pupils a whopping £60,000 per year and has average earnings per barrister of an eye-watering £569,000.

Fans of the lad, who has developed a devoting social media following in earlier rounds, have even devoted a Tumblr page to fete him as a “University Challenge Cutie”. Next stop, the Barrister Hottie List …
