At the Golden Globes last night hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler listed some of Doughty Street barrister Amal Clooney’s high profile work, before revealing that it was her husband who was receiving a lifetime achievement award.
The exchange has since been turned into a series of subtitled stills. The meme (above) has been trending on Imgur today, getting over 1.3 million views.
Clooney, who saw the funny side of the joke, appeared to be in high spirits at the awards — where, employing a Golden Globes programme as a prop, he did his best impression of a law student reading over EU notes.
