Edinburgh Uni law student legally analyses tutor’s feedback — conclusion: breaches official guidelines

Only a law student would do this

A law student at Edinburgh University has taken to an online class forum to legally analyse the quality of feedback provided by a tutor.

Using as a reference point the university’s official ‘Feedback Standards and Guiding Principles’ document — which runs to four pages — the anonymous student points out that the feedback they received failed to meet the stipulated requirement of being “prompt, informative and helpful”.

The post — a screenshot of which appeared yesterday on the ‘Overheard in Old College’ Facebook page — can be enjoyed below. Note that it refers to a module in delict, which as you will of course know is the Scots law equivalent of tort.
