Non-lawyer justice secretary stumbles again
Chris Grayling wrote a piece for the Daily Mail last month in which he stated that judges in the European Court of Human Rights were “not by any means all legally qualified”.
This is incorrect, as human rights lawyer Shoaib Khan pointed out on Twitter:

But first Khan pointed this out in a letter to the Daily Mail, also highlighting another mistake by the justice secretary over the right not to be tortured, which he’d incorrectly declared to be subject to caveats.
In response, yesterday the Daily Mail published this correction to Grayling’s article.
